You can tell from its main page that Freeserve Chat is a force to be reckoned with. For one, the choice of rooms is excellent, with special communities for the elderly, gay people, teens and singles. Not only that, there are direct links to an extensive help section, advice for parents and an explanation of what Freeserve does to protect children online. Useful features include the ability to send a sound to the room (perhaps the ringing of a gong, or a round of applause), to change the colour of your text and to send memos to other chatters.
